Metropolis Records 2014

TVMALSV is the first album from the Cocksure project, which revived the spirit of the old Revolting Cocks and restored the distinctive sound and feel of the Wax Trax label.
Of all three albums released, TVMALSV is my favorite. Perhaps because it was a pleasant surprise for me at the time, a kind of antidote to the modern, polished, and sterile-sounding computer releases.
When I was younger, I was a huge fan of old Ministry albums, Revolting Cocks, and all their side projects, so when I heard Cocksure for the first time, many years later, on a Metropolis Records compilation, I felt right at home. I don't even remember what else was on that compilation because I only listened to that one track on repeat. The similarity to the old Revolting Cocks immediately struck me. I did some research and realized that since Chris Connelly was on vocals, it was a no-brainer. After watching the official music video, fascinated by the music's gritty sound, energy, and sense of humor, I ordered everything available—three albums on CD. I'm still on the lookout for a few EPs; I think something has been released on vinyl...
Anyway, the album is good from start to finish; there are no weak moments. I don't think there's any point in going into detail about individual tracks. The dirty, raw sound of old samplers, laid-back rhythms, bass guitar, the distorted voice of Chris Connelly, who often... raps!, and those samples, tons of samples. By some strange, magical coincidence, it all fits together perfectly. What more could you want?
Except that on one of the tracks on this album, somewhat analogous to Revolting Cocks' first album, "Big Sexy Land", Richard 23 of Front 242 once again guest-sings.
